Call for Proposals – Making it Digital

The New England Digital Scholarship Collective invites lightning talk proposals for the October 20, 2017 Workshop “Making it Digital.” We welcome talks that showcase examples of how one may incorporate open-source digital tools and methodologies into classroom activities and assignments across humanities disciplines. We encourage presenters to raise questions about how computational approaches complement conventional teaching approaches in humanities classrooms. Each talk should be no more than 5 minutes long and should illustrate an example of DH pedagogy in action. Additionally, Lightning Talk presenters will be invited to participate in a hands-on pedagogy session later in the day, facilitating discussions within small groups composed of individuals seeking to integrate digital tools into existing “analog” classroom assignments.

In your proposal, please briefly describe the assignment you’d like to discuss. Aspects you may want to cover include, but are not limited to:
* learning objectives for the assignment
* why you chose to make it digital
* how the assignment went from your perspective
* what, if anything, your students had to say about it

Proposals should be no more than 200 words and should be submitted to Kristen Abbott Bennett ( no later than September 1, 2017.
