Why We Mustn’t Take Digital Access for Granted

At the November seminar in our Challenging Innovation series, Christopher Gilliard, a professor at Macomb Community College in Michigan, spoke on “Situating Innovation.” His talk focused on how members of privileged communities – including most universities – often don’t realize that many disadvantaged people living in the United States don’t have computers or easily accessible Internet, which increases entrenched inequalities.
