Meet Caitlin Feeley, keynote speaker at tomorrow’s Technology Showcase. She has over a decade of experience researching the use of video games for educational purposes, and has instructed both traditional classes and MOOCs. She holds a Masters degree from Harvard in Technology, Innovation and Education, and today she works with MIT’s Education Arcade. One of Caitlin’s main focuses is developing informal learning experiences for underserved populations and young adolescents. She was a project manager and co-designer for a transmedia game called Vanished, co-developed with the Smithsonian. She also co-designed the award-winning financial literacy games “Farm Blitz” and “Bite Club.” Caitlin will discuss the philosophy behind Education Arcade’s products, and explain the processes and benefits connected to gaming for educational purposes.
